A very adoptable cat who would make a sweet pet:

Gray short-haired tabby male, neutered, all shots, tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDS. Very sweet, purry, talks back when you talk to him, gets along well with other cats. Was a stray rescued from the street but has been living indoors with other cats for at least three months now. Age estimated at two years.

Two other cats:

Male, orange and white markings, small and delicate, all shots, neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDS. He is missing one tooth and sometimes his tongue sticks out as a result, making him look a little ditzy! Very skittish but will warm up to someone with consistency and trust. He is very cute and also gets along well with other cats. He would do well with another cat and with someone who understands that he is not, at least initially, going to be a cuddly pet. Age is probably one year or so.

Female, spayed, all shots, negative for feline leukemia and AIDS. Gray tabby, a little overweight, cute. I can pet her and she purrs like crazy. Gets along okay with other cats, but doesn't seek out their company. Not sure how old she is, but seems a little older to me than the other cats.

Nate is a 12 week old kitten who is so cute, affectionate, playful and sweet. He was abandoned at an animal hospital because he tested feleuk positive. But he is currently in excellent health and vaccinated. The animal hospital staff could not bring themselves to euthanize him But they are also taking in 5 Katrina victims and may not have the space for him in the future. They are offering a discounted or (maybe even free) vet care to anyone who adopts. If you know anyone who would open their heart to Nate, please contact me ASAP. And spread the word about this wonderful kitten. To adopt, please call Mobilization for Animals PA, 610.747.0436 or toll-free 1-866-6ANIMAL(1-866-626-4625.)
This kitten was just born around September 7th and was found screaming, hungry and lost in some bramble bushes by the cat colony that she had called home. Momcat was nowhere in sight, and a major rainstorm was about to commence. Because it was a night with a full moon, she or he (too young to tell) has been named Luna. S/He is a very healthy, little Purr Machine and bright as a button! This kitten will grow up to be an extraordinary companion because she thinks that she is human!  To adopt, please call Mobilization for Animals PA, 610.747.0436 or toll-free 1-866-6ANIMAL(1-866-626-4625.)

This is Buddy. He is around three years old. He is a very sweet calm dog. He does well with other dogs and also with cats. Kids too. He has been neglected for some time and is very thin. He walks really well on the leash and does not pull at all. He is not very active and would be quite happy just hanging out at home. And he is housetrained as well!. Please contact his foster parents, Joyce & Joe at 215.885.0281 or at jyctighe@comcast.net.

“Spruce” is a male pitbull, found, who needs a loving home with lots of attention. He is sweet, affectionate, gives lots of kisses, and would probably do best without kitties or other animals. Spruce is about 2 years old, and has been neutered and given all up-to-date shots. Adoption screening will be detailed, so please only call with a real commitment to providing a life-long, loving home.

Spruce is gorgeous shiny brown, with bright eyes and strong, healthy teeth. I picked him up running in the middle of a country road about three weeks ago, hungry, scared and full of fleas. Judging by the many scars all over his face, head and neck there is no doubt that he was used as "bait" by dog fighters and was most likely dropped off because he is so friendly. A woman I work with rescued a male pitbull from the same location with the same description only eight months ago. Someone is breeding these dogs, using and abusing them and abandoning them to fend for themselves in the country.

I have no space to keep him outdoors and it's painfully obvious from his quiet cries that he is a nature boy and longs to run free!

Someday I hope his wish comes true! Please contact me with ANY PIT BULL RESCUE INFO or adoption or foster care hopes. He is REALLY, REALLY SWEET!!!!

TOOTSIE NEEDS A GOOD HOME!

She was found in the rain on September 2nd, shivering with her eight-month-old daughter, Kisses, outside St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. Kisses has since found a new home. But Tootsie, a sweet and shy chocolate Labrador mix, is still waiting to be adopted.

About two-and-a-half-years old, Tootsie gets along well with everyone. She's easy to walk and highly intelligent, but hasn't had much formal training. After a mild case of kennel cough, Tootsie is in great health.

To find out more about Tootsie (whose I.D. number is A674921) contact the New York Animal Care & Control at 212-788-4000. Don't delay, or Tootsie may be gone!
